High School Hype and Science Symbols
The slot is set in a High School, where our beauty and our nerd attend. Our nerd has a crush on the head cheerleader, and uses a number of school day items to get her to like him, and hopefully kiss him.
The graphics are very well done, looking like an animated movie. All symbols animate when forming part of winning combination as well.
The buttons at the bottom of your screen with all your info are done as a selection of science experiments in glass beakers, with the text swirling to fit the graphics.
The backdrop to the reels is our Nerd, working hard over his science experiments which are where the graphics for the buttons tie into the theme.
The symbols found in Beauty and the Nerd are High School based and many of them pertain to the Nerd’s forte of Science. The lower paying symbols are a chemistry experiment and a school desk full of papers and books.
The medium paying symbol is represented by the school bell, whilst the cheerleader’s pom poms and the Nerd’s school books are worth 100 and 200 coins respectively for five of each in a row.
Beauty and Nerdy Specials
There are two scatter icons in Beauty and the Nerd slot, the first being our cheerleader Beauty and the second is of course the Nerd.
Finding three of these anywhere on the reels will trigger the bonus game. You don’t have to find three of each either, it could be a mixture of the two. In the bonus round you will be taken to either Beauty’s bedroom or the Nerds bedroom.
There are twenty items in each bedroom to be collected, each item containing either coin prizes or multipliers. You must keep collecting items until you come across a Collect icon, at which time the bonus game will end and you will be taken back to the base game.
There is also a Click Me bonus round which is triggered by finding Locker symbols on reels one three and five. In this round you click on certain icons to collect prizes. Again, keep playing until you see the Collect icon, at which time you will be taken back to the base game.
The game has a wild icon too, this is represented by a cat in a tree which is a bit random. This symbol will take the place of all base symbols in the game, and can land you some decent wins. This icon is only found on the third reel, and can expand to cover the whole reel.
The Jackpot in Beauty and the Nerd is won by lining up five computer symbols on your active paylines from left to right. These computers are emblazoned with the name Kelly, presumably our Beauty’s name. This will net you a pretty decent 8000 coins.
